It’s hard to think back and recall the best date I’ve ever had, but I’m sure they would have to have been the ones I had in my childhood. Although they might not be considered dates from a more mature perspective, the feeling and fun I had when I was 14 and 16 years old seem almost more real than the ones I feel on dates today.
Love was such a powerful emotion for me back then. I remember walking hand and hand through a graveyard shrouded in mist and hours spend talking endlessly on the phone. I recall laying on a basement floor, the guy of my dreams sleeping soundly beside me, and school dances that seemed to crackle with unbridled energy. These were the best dates I ever had and I hope never to lose the memories.
